The concept of landscaping your property has been around for so long it can seem to homeowners that it is the only option available when it comes to beautifying your land. Just take a look at the abundance of landscaping companies available to you in the Renton area!
However, landscaping with plants, dirt, and water isn’t the only option. More and more homeowners are discovering hardscaping, or hard landscaping. Hardscaping, by itself or in conjunction with other landscaping, can really bring out the best features of your outdoor spaces. New Life Rockeries is here to take care of your hardscaping projects.
Hardscaping (or hard landscaping) describes the use of any hard, natural materials in a design created for an outdoor space. Materials like wood, concrete, bricks, masonry, stone, pavers and natural rocks can form the basis for features like decks, pathways, walkways and retaining walls. When thought of in terms of utilizing outside spaces, it’s not hard to see how hardscaping features fit into your property. These elements can be as simple as a dry stacked wall, to an elegant outdoor kitchen area. Hardscaping can make your home stand out from the others!
Absolutely fantastic.
We had the New Life team replace our failing retaining wall, build steps from our front to back yard, and create an area for a fire pit.
Despite torrential rain during the project, they stabilized our wall and completed the work with surgical precision.
Our neighbors were also really happy with the transformation.
They replaced an ugly, rotten wall with a beautiful terraced one —in terrible weather—and stayed on budget doing so.
They were so easy to work with, and we are so happy with the result.
Thank you!!
New Life Rockeries was so easy to work with on every step of the process.
They heard our hopes and goals, provided awesome professional feedback to make it even better than we imagined, and got the job done!
They started sooner than we expected, were extremely detail-focused (since I'm working from home, I'd spy a little and was impressed by how they would take the time to get each stone perfect), and they came in under budget!
This was not a small project either—they:
Can't recommend them enough and will definitely get more projects done by them in the future!
In the photos, you’ll see a concrete wall—that ugly thing was NOT their work. It’s getting covered by a fence that will sit on top of the lovely wall New Life built.
We loved working with the team.
They listened to our concerns, addressed landscape issues, provided reasonable solutions that worked, and delivered excellent work.
The team was meticulous and conscientious of our neighbors. They allowed us to expand on the project, finding what worked best.
Clean-up every day was part of their routine, and we were kept informed every step of the way.
We absolutely love our new patio areas, rockeries, landscape, and drainage solutions. We now have a very livable and workable space!
We would hire them again.
This is the first step, in which we meet with you to discuss your vision for your property. We talk about how we can best turn your vision into a reality, and as we survey the property we look for those areas ideally suited to hardscaping features.
After we visit your property and understand your vision for the project, it’s time for our design team to get to work. After considering all the variables – such as the style of the features, site preparation factors, any issues concerning drainage, and the focal points in the various features – the plan begins to take shape. What about style? This is where the creative process really comes out and shines. If a homeowner gives us a simple phrase like “We want an Old English garden look,” we can zero in on those design features and materials that best capture this vision. We usually want to focus on creating the project with two or three natural materials. These items are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing, but will also be compatible with the home’s interior and exterior design.
One we have the approved plans in our hands, we prepare with you a list of materials for building the hardscaping features. After we collaborate on choosing materials, our team gets busy with a thoroughly thought-out site preparation process. We take into account such factors as the effects weather may have on the features, and make sure that any potential settling or sinking does not occur in the future. Of particular concern for us is making sure that we take into account all drainage issues so that no problems arise from the erection of walls. We want to eliminate any danger of water runoff into adjacent properties. After site preparation is complete, the hardscaping beings.
