When it comes to stone and rock, we have a huge selection to pick from to construct your retaining walls and water features. Generally, we suggest granite, sandstone, limestone, and basalt. Your choice of texture, size, color, and rock shape all can be taken into consideration when making selections of stone for your Sammamish home project. Choosing the right material for your project begins with the style of rockery construction you want. Environmental conditions also will factor into the rocks and stones we may suggest using.
Adding plants to your retaining wall can provide a tremendous difference to the end look of your property. The simple addition of a proper selection of plants to your rockeries can alter your project giving it vibrant and welcome feeling. If your project is in an area with poor light, impatiens or hostas will thrive. We recommend selecting some plants and adding them to your retaining wall to add to its aesthetic appeal. Not only will this you add to the beauty, but it blends into the property creating a natural look.
Depending on the environmental needs and the layout of your rockery, you might require a full retaining wall to be built. Our professional crew will meet with you at your Issaquah property and discuss the best placement of the wall on your property. Once we have selected the best rocks suited to the needs and function of your wall, we will begin construction.
New Life Rockeries mainly utilizes three types of rock in our projects.
One Man, Half Man Rock
These are rocks that can be mostly assembled by hand and are good for small wall builds. It is a common misunderstanding that one man and half man stones are rocks that one man can lift; however, the name implies that these are rocks that can be moved by one man with the use of a crowbar. When working half man projects, we use a larger crew so we can complete as much of the job in a single day.
Two and Three Man Rock
These stones can only be placed with the use of a machine. This means our teams will consist of one operator as well as one man on the ground and another driving a supply truck. This is the most common type of rockery construction our crews do. We use a custom mini machine that has been specially modified to ensure the construction of these walls both quick and economical. Our teams can construct 400-600 square foot of wall on an average day.
Boulders
Due to Boulders smooth surfaces and round edges, we rarely used them in the assembly of rock walls. Sometimes we will insert boulders within rock walls to add an aesthetic enhancement to the project. Thus they are generally reserved for decorative uses on property projects.
Water features are an excellent choice when you wish to elevate the beauty of your rockery project. Options like falls, ponds, pools, and fountains are all great choices that add beauty to your property and can also help direct water flow on your Sammamish property. With a wide selection of Water feature options to choose from we can help you create nearly any look you desire.
New Life Rockeries wants to create your landscape according to your vision. Choosing from the best plants and water features is one way we help you achieve that. We provide you with knowledgeable assistance to help you make the right selections of rocks for your water feature as well as placing it in the perfect location on your property.
