Block Retaining Wall Contractors Serving Greater Seattle
Segmental retaining wall blocks — including Allan Block, Versa-Lok, Manorstone, and concrete masonry units (CMU) — are one of the most versatile and durable options for managing slopes and grade changes in the Pacific Northwest. Unlike natural stone, block systems are engineered to precise tolerances, making them ideal for taller walls, tiered systems, and projects where structural calculations are required.
Seattle's combination of heavy rainfall, clay soils, and steep terrain puts unique demands on retaining walls. Block walls that are improperly designed or installed without adequate drainage will fail just as quickly as any other wall type. Our installation process always includes proper base preparation, geogrid reinforcement for taller walls, and perforated drain pipe behind the wall to manage hydrostatic pressure year-round.
We work with all major segmental block systems and can match existing walls for repairs and extensions. Whether you need a single-tier garden wall or a multi-tiered structural wall system, our crews have the experience to engineer and build it correctly. Every project includes a detailed written proposal, clear timeline, and warranty on our workmanship.

What We Build

Allan Block Walls
Allan Block is one of the most widely used segmental retaining wall systems in the Pacific Northwest. The interlocking design and engineered setback create a strong, stable wall that handles Seattle's wet winters without drainage failures. Available in multiple textures and colors.

Versa-Lok Walls
Versa-Lok's pinless connection system allows for tight curves, corners, and complex geometries that other block systems cannot achieve. Ideal for curved walls, circular planters, and tiered landscape designs where flexibility of form is important.

Manorstone Walls
Manorstone's tumbled texture and natural color blends give block walls the look of aged stone while maintaining the structural consistency of an engineered system. A popular choice for homeowners who want the aesthetic of natural stone with the reliability of a block system.

CMU Block Walls
Concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls are the choice for maximum structural strength. Often used for below-grade applications, commercial projects, and situations where a poured concrete wall is not practical. Can be left exposed or veneered with stone or brick.

Tiered Block Wall Systems
Multi-tiered block wall systems allow you to manage significant grade changes while creating usable flat areas for patios, gardens, and lawns. We design tiered systems with proper setback between tiers and integrated drainage to handle Seattle's annual rainfall.

Block Walls with Steps & Caps
Integrated steps, pilasters, and cap stones complete a block wall installation and tie it into the surrounding landscape. We design step systems that are safe, code-compliant, and visually proportionate to the wall height and site conditions.
What Our Customers Say
"New Life installed a tiered Manorstone wall system in our backyard that transformed a steep, unusable slope into two beautiful flat areas. The drainage they put in has handled every wet season without a problem. Outstanding craftsmanship."
"We had a curved Allan Block wall installed along our front property line with integrated steps. The crew was professional, cleaned up completely, and the wall looks exactly like the design they showed us. Very happy."
"They replaced our old failing timber wall with a Versa-Lok block wall. The difference is night and day — solid, level, and no more drainage issues. Worth every penny."
