You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of rocks we have for you to choose from. Think about the size, color, and texture of the stones you want to be added to your yard. Consider their placement and purpose. Of course, we’ll help you make these decisions. We take a look at your property and figure out the best stones to accomplish your project. Some rock types we like to use are basalt, sandstone, limestone, and granite.
While adding walls and rock structure, we like to weave in plant life. Plants add a living, breathing feel to your yard. Even in areas with only a little bit of light, we can use plants like hostas or impatiens. Common flowers and plants you’ll find in our landscaping include ground covers, woolly yarrow, perennials, rock cress, and much, much more.
Some properties require that a retaining wall be installed to direct the flow of water and reinforce sections of land. Our team of construction workers and designers can advise you on whether or not a retaining wall is right for your property. If you’re thinking about getting a retaining wall installed in Lake Stevens, be sure to contact New Life Rockeries first.
Types of Rock Retaining Walls
At New Life Rockeries, we design and construct three types of retaining walls.
One Man Half Man Rock
These jobs use smaller stones that our workers can handle manually. They’re not small enough for just one person to pick up – not without the right tools. Even for One Man Half Man rock retaining walls, we work safely and efficiently with a full crew of hardscaping professionals.
Two to Three Man Rock
This is a larger project with larger stones. This requires a special machine and a crew of operators. Don’t worry, we keep our job sites nice and neat, no matter what scale. Two to Three Man Rock retaining walls are the most popular rockery options we offer. Our special machinery and streamlined workflow allow us to install up to 600 square feet of stones per day (depending on conditions).
Boulders
This isn’t the most common material for rock retaining walls, but boulders can be used as interesting art pieces in your yard. Use boulders strictly for aesthetics, since their round, smooth edges generally aren’t suited for stacking.
Want the serenity of a waterfall in your backyard? How about a peaceful pond or a gentle stream? Water features are an excellent way to bring beauty and harmony to your yard.
From installing an ornate fountain to regulating the existing water flow on your property, New Life Rockeries can do it all. Whether you need a practical solution or just an artistic one, we’ve got you covered.
To get the most from your water features, you need to select the right materials, come up with your design and have immaculate execution. We’ll help you pick out the materials you need for your water feature, and we’ll source them for you. If you have an idea, we’d love to hear it and make it happen. Not sure what water feature is best for your property? Schedule a consultation and we’ll come up with the right design for you.
All our rockery, retaining wall, and water feature projects start with a free on-site consultation. We’ll get to know you and your land, analyze your property and create a unique landscaping solution for your Lake Stevens home.
